In addition to bee garden design I am also available for bee identification services. If you are working on bees (as a graduate student, biologist or naturalist) and need someone to identify your collection, please feel free to contact me. I have been identifying bees since 2010 and have worked on bees in Florida, Vermont, California, New Mexico, Arizona, and Costa Rica. I attended the Bee Course in Portal, AZ in 2012, where I strengthened my identification skills and learned from the top taxonomists in the country. I worked regularly with Dr. Robbin Thorp at UC Davis, until his passing in 2019, identifying bees from the Urban Bee Lab at UC Berkeley. In addition to identifying bees, I'm also available to teach taxonomic workshops. I have taught several workshops through the Cheadle Center for Ecological Restoration at UC Santa Barbara, the Jepson Herbarium, and environmental consulting firms. If your group would like to learn more about how to identify bees, please contact me to inquire about my availability and pricing.
